about me
Hi. I’m Katy Lindemann: for the last 8 years kitschbitch has been my home on the web for things that interest me, which I hope may also interest you - bits ‘n’ pieces from on and off the interweb and my own thoughts about planning, communications, media, music, art, geeky stuff and so on.
It’s called kitschbitch because I love all things kitsch. And because it trips off the tongue so snappily.
By day I’m a media manager at PHD strategist at Naked Communications; I’d like to say that by night I’m an Emma Peel-stylee international woman of mystery, but the reality is much more mundane, I’m afraid.
I like gigs, chocolate, clubbing, gin and tonics, sunshine, the muppets, most stuff made by apple, geeky shit, the delicious combination of duvet+sofa, football (for my sins I’m a Man Utd fan, but in my defence I am a manc!), gadgets, nintendo wii, street art, taking photos, drooling over sexy japanese import trainers and eating & drinking things that are bad for me.
I’m in my mid-twenties and I live in London, but also spend a fair bit of time splashing around on the south coast with my Brighton-based other half, where I can usually be found dodging dive-bombing seagulls trying to nick my chips.
I can be found in various other places online, including:
about the site
This site was chopped together on an iBook G4 and runs on Wordpress. The author runs on Diet Coke and chocolate biscuits.
Way back in the day - before I went on a rather extended blogging hiatus - kitschbitch was actually one of the first british blogs, and was the subject of a few articles (guardian, evening standard, CMJ) about this strange new phenomenon called weblogging…how times have changed! I was also one of the bloggers featured in ‘blogtrumps’. At some point I’ll sort out the old blogger archives, however as I think it’s highly unlikely anyone will have the urge to browse old blog posts from over 7 years ago, this’ll happen when it, er, happens …
